my neighbors next door flew like a bird after katrina
they rented the house and they just left everything

the house has not been gutted of anything including
refrierator(which is wide opened)!!!!!!!!

the place has rats the size of cats(not kidding)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
we are trying to re-build

we called the owners several times(they live on northshore)

they said they signed up to get it torn down(this was back in august)
we waited nothing yet

we called them again and explained we now have mice in our trailer and home that we are re-building.
they said they would send someone to spray
we waited

we called again and reported them on the city's web site
we are still waiting

no one can tell us(including city employee's and home owners) when it will be torn down

the smell is outrages,the rats are bigger than my dog! :x
and the door is wide open for anyone to enter

please any help of what we can do next

we are getting close to getting back in our house
i just hope we don't have to call 6 on your side
please help if you can

I've heard of one solution that has worked for others.

Put a sign up in front of their house with the owner's phone number on it. The sign should tell people to phone the owners and tell them to clean up their house. After a large number of annoying phone calls, they may decide to clean it up.

That is a serious health issue and something needs to be done quickly. Waiting around for the city to do something is just not good enough.
