I have applied to this grant program. I am told by the city that the'
"city will do an assessment of your property" and assign a "vendor"
(building vendor to the homeowners). I applied months ago to this
program. HMGP has called asking for info which I had and sent to them.
Months have gone by. So, my question is this? If you have contracted
with an "vendor" on the rebuild,and this "vendor" is not the "city" vendor...
and you have demolished, then your property is disqualified!
Also, if you have a contract with a "builder of your choice" .......and
you have to go with the assigned "vendor" by the city.... that OPENS
the homeowner up to one heck of a lawsuit.
No public notice has gone out to "vendor" that would like to apply. Is
this a secret list or what?
I don't think this is right way to do this? Seems like if your builder
is licensed, etc. and you have all permits, plans, etc... you should be
able as the homeowner to "use who you want". I need the funds
because rebuilding has been expensive.
Just need some opinions on this. THanks.
