Come Celebrate the rebuilding of New Orleans with Flag Day Ceremonies on Saturday, June 10, 2006, 10AM, in the heart of Lakeview.
BRIEF Ceremonies (no more than an hour and probably much less) will be held in the (rustic and currently under renovation) St Dominic Knights of Columbus Council Hall at 6254 Vicksburg Street, New Orleans, LA 70124, across Harrison Avenue from St Dominic Catholic Church.
The American flag will be raised on the flagpole at Harrison Avenue and Vicksburg Street immediately following the indoor ceremonies.
Bring the whole family - hot dogs and soft drinks will be served back at the hall after the flag is raised.
If you're still not sure if you want to come out for this, think for a moment about the words of the Pledge of Allegiance that we so often recite:
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it
stands, one Nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice
for all.
And think about all the brave men and women over the history of this country that have been willing to lay down their life in defense of the principles that our flag represents.
If this doesn't call for recognition and celebration, then what does?
Come join us!
