Before I can decide the best way of rebuilding my home, which is located on the first half block off the Orleans canal, I would like any information anyone may have concerning the expansion of the levees. I have heard some people on the half block next to the 17th street canal are in negotiations on selling their properties but I have not seen or heard anything about the Orleans canal. Does anyone have information on this or could someone tell me where I should look. After attending the last meeting, I was hoping I could e-mail this question to one of the committee members but the organizational chart is a little confusing and I am not sure who would be the appropriate contact.

I agree the chart is hard to read because of it's size.

From what I here the Orleans Ave Canal homes will not be effected. The difference with the 17th Street Canal homes is their land is part of the levee so if they remove a tree, plant a tree, ad a pool etc... it changes the structural integrity of the levee.
