We have our house for sale at 6824 Vicksburg. It is an adorable 1955 Cape Cod. It is approximately 2200 square feet, 4 BR, 3 BA and is the perfect rehab house. There are three bedrooms and two full baths upstairs, along with the laundry room. Downstairs includes another bedroom and full bath, has been gutted and is ready for rehab!!!

Upstairs has an abundance of storage -- including great built-ins and roomy closets. It's a house you have to see!!

This is definitely a house that can be lived in upstairs while downstairs repairs are ongoing!

Lot size 50X122.

The house is raised over 5 feet and falls just shy of BFE. We have three quotes to raise it and the cost is covered by our $30k ICC money, which is transferable to you. Also, house should fall into the over 50% damaged category and therefore qualify for the full $150,000 LRA grant.

We have relocated to Houston. All reasonable offers will be considered.

Call Scott at 504-253-0803.

I have a house on your block and the elevation of the land is approximately 7 feet below sea level. To wit, our main living area is raised almost 4 feet off the ground and its elevation is -3.14.

Base flood elevation is the minimum elevation to which the lowest floor of a new residence must be built, and this has been so since 1984. Houses built before that, such as mine (and yours), were exempt from this. Now the lowest floor of your house may indeed be higher than -2.5 feet (it almost certainly is if it's raised 5 feet from ground level), but unless your first floor is 9-10 feet off of the ground, it isn't +2.5 feet.

Good luck with selling your house.
