One issue I have seen debated is about the soil after Katrina. One logical side I heard on this issue was, "when people fill their land before they landscape or build they put river sand in their yard". The point was river sand has much more contaminates than the lake has.

Is this a vaild statement?

To date the LDEQ has done the most extensive soil testing, and samples are no different than pre Katrina. They are similar to what you would find in any suburban area.
